Highly Contagious

I opened a fortune cookie last Sunday and this is what it said, "Your gratitude will change the attitude of those around you." I held onto it because it really spoke to me. Our gratitude does so much for us--it can affect our physical health, our emotional attitude, our heart sensitivity to others, but it can also affect others. It's highly contagious.

I am grateful I have a roof over my head. I am grateful I will have plenty to eat today. I am grateful I have a car to drive and don't need to take public transportation. I am grateful I have arms and legs and hands and feet and that they all work.

These are the simple things of life that so many people don't have. I need to be intentionally grateful.

I am grateful for nourishment for my soul. I am grateful to God that He gave me a soul to be nourished. I am grateful for people I interact with who bring encouragement, who give a smile and speak a kind word.

I am grateful for a group of people from many walks of life who took me in when I was hurting, who accepted me just as I was and didn't expect anything from me in return. I am grateful for hope. I am grateful for hugs when needed and a listening ear when I've needed to unload.

I'm on a roll here. Would you like to join me? Leave comments about what you are grateful for. Let's start a world-wide connection of gratitude. Let's allow gratitude to change us and just maybe change our world.

To the Giver of Life -- I am most grateful!
